Style Inspo: Puff Sleeves Are Everywhere, And These Fashionistas Are Huge Fans!

Throwback trends are always fun to rewear. This year, we've already seen the resurgence of the neon trend from the '80s, the animal print from the '90s, and now, puff sleeves power shoulder (also from the '80s) are making a comeback!

We love that the ruching at the shoulder seam that give an exaggeration to the sleeves can elevate any look—you can just pair it with simple jeans and still look extra chic and dressy!

Whether it be in the form of a dress, top, or jacket, subtle pouf or oversized pouf, these celebrities and fashionistas give this trend their stamp of approval. And, like them, there are so many ways you can wear the puff sleeve trend.

1. The Subtle Puff

If you're still testing the waters with this trend, start easy with a subtle puff sleeve like Debbie Ryan's custom Filipiñana top by Patty Ang. Balance out the look by wearing bottoms with more volume.

2. The Princess-esque Puff Sleeve

If you can't pull off the full-on prairie look (high-necked collars and other Victorian lace elements), take it from Isabelle Daza and Martine Cajucom and make the trend look more casual but still romantic. Think of your favorite Disney Princess and make it look more modern in dainty prints and colors, as well as experimenting with cap or short sleeves.

3. The Victorian-style Puff Sleeve

This style is not too conservative as you may think. Victorian styles usually are all about high necklines and oversized sleeves, but now, everyone's experimenting with different necklines and cuts. One of the classics is the leg of mutton sleeve, full and loose on the arm but close-fitting at the wrist. Check out Solenn Heussaff's version with a neckline that shows off her décolletage.

4. The Balloon Sleeve

On days when you're feeling a little extra, go for the Balloon sleeve. It's all about that big puff and volume but with a fitted cuff for this style. Make a bold statement and turn heads like Elizabeth Gillies's  Dynasty character, Fallon Carrington, who is wearing a fab evening look with Balloon sleeves.
